Here at Learning Ascent, we have tutors for every subject. As we continue our series, “Meet your Tutors,” we wanted to highlight one of our favorite math tutors here, Zach!

Zach, Learning Ascent, St. Charles, IL

Zach, our math extraordinaire!

We asked Zach to tell us a little more about himself. This is what he said:

1. What area of study do you specialize in here at LA? I specialize in Mathematics and Statistics, but I can also do Economics (and a little Computer Science).

2. What is a hidden talent of yours? I don’t know if I would call it a hidden talent, but I do Boxing and Muay Thai, and I also play hockey.

3. Who is your biggest inspiration? The person I find to be most “inspiring” is Elon Musk. If you aren’t familiar with him, he is the CEO of Tesla Motors, SpaceX and a co-founder of PayPal. His goal is to put a man on Mars within the next 10 years, and after creating not one, but three multi-billion dollar corporations, I wouldn’t put it past him. Once he gets an idea in his head, he does everything in his power to make sure it comes to fruition. I admire people like that.

4. What is your favorite sports team? Denver Broncos all the way.

5.  What is the best part about working at Learning Ascent? The best part about working at LA is just being able to help the students. It is very rewarding when I hear that their grades have improved after coming in for tutoring, or they scored well on the ACT. It means they worked hard to improve and the hard work paid off. Not only that, but all of my coworkers are great, and I have learned a lot working with Bruce and Jennifer.
